Last year we had great success organising a tea party for some friends so we decided this year had to see a repeat experience. We pulled out all the stops, serving chocolate cupcakes (made by my sister who happened to be visiting), lemon drizzle cake made by Ava, Cucumber sandwiches, Raspberry tarts made by Squeak, tuna sandwiches, fresh strawberries, homemade lemonade (made by me), six types of tea (organised by the Mister) and scones, also made by me, with clotted cream and jam.
Even though we had to move it indoors this year (hence the bad pictures) everybody there had a great time.I think I have to make those scones more often. So easy and so incredibly yummy.
Oh wie schön! Da wäre ich gerne dabei gewesen!
ReplyDeleteThe photos look really tasty, it seems as if you had a great afternoon. Although I would find it kind of confusing to eat tuna sandwich and lemon cake at the same time or find it on the same table. But on the other hand, maybe this makes a 'classical' tea party unique.
ReplyDeleteWe did have a debate over the sandwiches but afternoon tea should include sandwiches so we made some. When we later got to eating it, I was actually quite glad to have something savoury between all that sweet stuff and I was clearly not the only one. The sandwiches disappared in no time at all.
DeleteOh goodness! Please invite me to your next tea party!
ReplyDeleteSure! If you ever find yourself in London, let me know. :)
