Do you know that smell of damp leaves and the first fires, of damp earth and a hint of frost? Do you enjoy the feeling of the cold air, fresh and crisp, and the twilight that seems to fall too early? Do feel the anticipation of a warm cup of tea waiting for you back at home, and the comfort of thick sock and knitted blankets? This time a year has come again.
I love autumn and all those things you mentioned!
ReplyDeleteIt's great, isn't it? I had a moment this morning where I just curled up on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket while holding a cup of tea and listened to the rain falling outside. I love it.
DeleteOh autumn... there's something so cozy about it. ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely photo Zelde!
There really is, isn't there? I think it's very handy that every part of the year has it's own charms. It means there is always something to look forward to :)
DeleteI've only just come to a conclusion that I really really REALLY love autumn. There's something so theatrical about how the trees become naturists and the look of the beautiful colours of the leaves they shed. Summer's great and everything but autumn, autumn's my love.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that just a few days ago. I don't think anything changes the feel of a city quite as much as having leaves all over the streets.
